Applied Intercultural Linguistics (M.A.)
study content
The central contents of the degree programme are the deepening of theoretical and methodological knowledge with the aim of developing transcultural competence, the expansion and intensification of knowledge and skills in linguistic disciplines and the development of exemplary own and foreign cultural topics. The degree programme includes the academic study of two foreign languages at a very high level. In terms of organisation, the study content is divided into the sub-disciplines of descriptive linguistics, applied linguistics, foreign language didactics and ethnology/ethnology

- Bachelor's degree or comparable degree
- List of all academic achievements ("Transcript of Records")
- Proof of knowledge of both chosen languages at level C1/C2 (if language skills are not proven by the degree, see point 2 under Requirements for Admission)
- Proof of knowledge of any other foreign language at level A2 ( see point 3 in the admission requirements)
A single copy of the certificates for points 2 to 6 must be enclosed.
The submission of a curriculum vitae and university entrance qualification is voluntary. A letter of motivation does not have to be submitted.
The degree certificate can be submitted later.
Prospective students who are studying for a Bachelor's degree or another equivalent degree at a German higher education institution in the current semester may provisionally apply with their "Transcript of Records" if they have already acquired at least 140 credit points.
In special cases (e.g. double degree in teaching), admission may be conditional if the Bachelor's transcript is submitted within one year.

- Bachelor's degree certificate or equivalent degree in certified copy or sworn translation if the originals are not in German or English (exception: China, Vietnam and Mongolia only with original APS certificate)
- List of all academic achievements ("Transcript of Records" in sworn translation if the originals are not written in German, English, French, Spanish or Italian)
- Proof of German language skills (DSH 2, TestDaF 4 or equivalent certificate; information on the DSH examination at the University of Augsburg)
- Proof of knowledge of both chosen languages at level C1/C2 (if language skills are not proven by the degree, see point 2 under Requirements for Admission)
- Proof of knowledge of any other foreign language at level A2 (if language skills are not proven by mother tongue, see point 3 under Requirements for Admission).
- Proof of knowledge of German (see point 5) must be submitted at the latest at the time of enrolment.
A single copy of the proofs for numbers 4 to 7 must be enclosed.
