Media coverage of human trafficking

project description:

The “Media coverage of human trafficking” project is supported by DAAD.

The aim of this scientific project is to reveal the frames used in the materials of two countries – Germany and Russia, dedicated to the issues of combating human trafficking, to define on the basis of what factors these frames are formed, to identify similar and distinctive features. It is assumed that the approaches to covering this topic are distinct, having different contexts impacted by culture, mentality, legal bases.

In this aspect, two stages of the study are expected so far: analysis of materials in two languages in recent years, conduction of semi-structured interviews with journalists, and not only.

The results of the study are expected to be published as scientific articles/conference papers.
