Welcome to the Chair of Financial Data Analytics!

The Chair of Financial Data Analytics is part of the  Cluster Finance, Accounting, Controlling, and Taxation at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Augsburg.

In our teaching at the Bachelor level, our lectures provide conceptual, methodological and theoretical foundations for the design and management of business information systems as well as digital finance. At the Master's level, courses are offered in financial data analytics, market microstructure and electronic securities trading. Course offerings are completed by doctoral seminars on research methods.

Our  research focuses on the question of how to extract useful information from large and heterogeneous data sets (big data) to support financial decision making. In addition, we focus on the management of opportunities and challenges associated with the digitalization of the financial services industry (especially FinTech). We use various methods of quantitative research (especially data and text mining) and qualitative research (especially case study research).
