Wolfgang Burkart, born in 1976, studied business administration at the University of Augsburg, majoring in planning and decision making, human resources, and business informatics.

Since December 2004, he has been a research assistant at the Chair of Analytics & Optimization. For the winter semester 2007, he was elected as representative of the scientific staff to the faculty council of the Faculty of Business and Ecnomics. He completed his doctorate in October 2010 on the topic "Product Line Pricing of Substitutable Services under Capacity Restrictions". Mr. Burkart is a member of the German OR Society (GOR) and the GOR working group Pricing and Revenue Management.

Within the scope of his research activities, Mr. Burkart focuses on discrete choice modelling and revenue management with supplier-side substitution, especially product line pricing and selection.
