Post-Exam Review Summer Term 2022

Dear students,

 

the review for examinations of the summer term 2022 of the chair of Prof. Veit will take place on Thursday, 20th of October 2022, from 10:15 am until 11:30 am in-person in room K 1004.

 

It is mandatory to register for participation in the exam review via email to Adeline Frenzel-Piasentin (adeline.frenzel@uni-a.de), stating your name, matriculation number and module(s), by Thursday, 13th of October 2022, 12:00 pm latest.
You will then be assigned a time slot between 10:15 am and 11:30 am in which you review your exam. Please note that we cannot accommodate requests for a time slot.

 

You can review the exams for the following modules:

 

  •     Digital Government Management (DGM)
  •     Electronic Commerce (ECO)
  •     Global E-Business and Electronic Markets (GEB)
  •     Information Systems and Business Modeling (ISB)
  •     Management Information Systems (MIS) 

 

Further, you will receive your assigned time slot and information about the exam review process via email on Friday, 14th of October 2022.

 

In addition, please note that wearing an FFP2 mask is strongly recommended. Currently, all general access restrictions no longer apply, in particular, 3G proof is no longer required (as of 30.08.2022, 1:00pm). We will inform you in due time about any changes in regard to the coronavirus.

In-Person Teaching in Summer Term 2022

Dear Students:
 
After conducting four “online” semesters we now receive the opportunity, based on the regulatory decisions, to operate our teaching on campus again. For this reason, we have decided to return completely to in-person teaching in the summer term 2022. This means that we will conduct all lectures and seminars in lecture halls and seminar rooms on campus as from today onwards and as long as it is permitted. In order to successfully switch back to on-campus teaching, we will refrain from transmitting lectures and seminars online as far as possible.
 
The past two years have shown to us all that there is a way to move university education more or less completely online. However, in doing so, a lot of quality is lost. The personal on-campus interaction in lectures and seminars cannot be completely replaced by the digital channel. Of course, there are some players in the market, e.g., remote universities and MOOC-providers, who offer online/distance-only content since many years. However, this form of university education falls behind in terms of the intensity of interaction compared to the physical in-classroom interaction.

Moreover, offering physical educational formats (which causes by the way significantly higher costs regarding teaching personnel and facilities) constitutes a particularly high quality of higher education which you may enjoy during your studies and in thriving for your university degree.  
 
Certainly, we will use digital formats in one or the other way also in the future. In particular for individual one-on-one meetings with thesis supervisors or meetings in small groups as well as meetings in office hours of the teaching personnel, this might be a viable option for flexibilization.
 
We are very much looking forward to a lively upcoming semester with you including personal interactions in lectures, exercises and seminars!

Preliminary correction and correction deadline

Dear students,

 

the Chair of Information Systems and Management does not offer any preliminary corrections. Information regarding "passed" and "failed" will not be published in advance. The grades will not be published on a notice board or individually. All participants of our exams will receive their exam results at the same time and thus fairly via Studis.

 

We also do not publish information about the progress of corrections. Therefore, please refrain from making any enquiries regarding this matter. The grades will be passed on to the examination office in accordance with the deadlines by our faculty and published in Studis. The results will not be displayed anywhere else and individual information will not be provided.

 

Since we do not only check in the MC-procedure, the corrections represent an enormous effort. We always want to ensure that the necessary diligence is taken in the correction process.

 

We ask you to refrain from making enquiries, as this prevents us from working and does not speed up the corrections.

We will inform you here in time regarding the date for the post-exam reviews.
