Evidence of German language skills

To find out what level of German is required for your degree programme, please check the overview of degree programmes.

 

If the degree programme has restricted admission (zulassungsbeschränkt) (with NC), evidence of German language skills must be submitted by the 15th of January at the latest (for the summer semester 2024).

 

Otherwise, it is sufficient to submit officially recognised evidence of German language skills at the required level by mid-March 2024.

 

 

The following certificates are recognised as evidence of German language skills:

 

C1 German language skills

 

B2 German language skills

 

 

EXCEPTIONS:

If you need to be allocated to a preparatory college (Studienkolleg), evidence of German language skills must be submitted at the latest by the 15th of January (for applications for the summer semester 2024), irrespective of the degree programme. Successful completion of a B2 level German course is sufficient.
