Chair for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence
The core competence of our department lies in the exploration of new paradigms for human-technology interaction, covering a wide range of sensory and interaction devices, including: eyetracking systems, motion capture systems, biosensors, touch-sensitive surfaces, etc.
The concepts and technologies developed have been successfully implemented in a large variety of application fields including social coaching and healthcare.
For this purpose, extensive third-party funds have been effectively used, e.g., from the European Union, German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Science Foundation (DFG). The innovative work of the department is documented by numerous publications at top-tier conferences and in renowned journals, many international prizes as well as national and international cooperations with partners from academics and industry in the context of third-party funded projects.
The founding chair of the department is Prof. Dr. Elisabeth André, an internationally recognized top researcher in the fields „intelligent user interfaces“, „virtual agents“ and „social computing“.
