Thesis and Project Module Topics

The following list represents possible topics for bachelor theses or master theses or project modules. The focus of the research can be adjusted to your personal preferences. Furthermore, you are welcome to bring your own topic to the table as long as it has a certain overlap with my research interests.


  • Computer Vision Syndrome with Cause Detection
    Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), also known as digital eye strain, is the combination of eye and vision problems when using computers and other digital devices. These can lead to a number of symptomes like difficulty focusing, neck pain, tired or burning eyes, blurred vision or double vision, watery or dry eyes, headache, dizziness. This work should produce a suited neural network to detect the CVS and possible causes by using XAI. 
  • Medical Image Synthesizer
    Medical image data is almost always a scarce resource when trying to train deep neural networks. Generative Adversarial Neural Networks (GANs) could help to generate needed medical image data to improve the performance of deep neural networks. This work should produce a GAN which produces realistic medical image data and evaluate if this data can indeed help to improve the performance of existing deep neural networks in medical image detection.
