About

Summary
The gender online tool is a web-based learning environment that uses the new potentials of the web to convey knowledge. In this particular case, the subject matter is gender mainstreaming and the teaching of gender competence. More concrete content can be found on the website of the Gender Centre Augsburg (University of Augsburg).

Description
The browser-based learning environment enables the use of the tool independent of classrooms or fixed teaching dates by using modern web technologies. The user can flexibly determine time and place of learning as well as the arrangement of the learning material.

The gender online tool was developed as a cooperation of the following institutions:

  • Gender Centre Augsburg, University of Augsburg
  • Lab for Human Centered Multimedia, University of Augsburg, Department of Computer Science
  • Bavarian Staatsministerium für Arbeit und Sozialordnung, Familie und Frauen

The lab for Human Centered Multimedia was responsible for the implementation and technical support during the whole project. In cooperation with the Gender Center Augsburg, a concept was developed that met the concrete requirements of knowledge transfer for the Gender Center Augsburg and used the possibilities of modern web technologies in a meaningful and adapted way.
