Curriculum Vitae

Amadeus J. Pickal studied psychology (bachelor’s and master’s degree programs) at the University of Vienna. From 2017 to 2018, he worked as a research associate at the Department of Education and Educational Psychology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich. During this time, he also started working on his doctoral thesis as a member of the DFG-funded research group “COSIMA: Facilitation of Diagnostic Competences in Simulation-Based Learning Environments in Higher Education”. He continued his work in COSIMA at the Institute of Education at the University of Hildesheim, where he was employed from 2018 to 2024 and completed his doctoral thesis. Since 2024, he has been working at Augsburg University – initially at the Chair of Learning Analytics and Educational Data Mining, later at the Chair of Psychology.
