INFORMATION ON THE WORK PLACEMENT IN THE BACHELOR DEGREE COURSE

  • Choice of work placement position: The student can freely choose their work placement position, provided it is related to a potential field of work in the area of geography. If in doubt, it is advisable to contact the person responsible for the module.
  • Work placement duration: The work placement should last for 6 weeks (fulltime! ≈ approx. 38 hours per week). It does not have to be taken in a block, but can also be undertaken over several periods with the same employer. Working student/student trainee activities, part-time work, previous vocational training or other work in appropriate companies or institutions can also be attributed, provided they meet the above-named time period in total and meet the content requirements. If a work placement lasts less than 6 weeks and if it is not possible to extend the period with the same employer, a second work placement for at least 4 weeks must be undertaken with another employer.
  • Certificate for compulsory work placements: If the employer requires a certificate for a compulsory work placement, the student must draw up a letter according to the requirements of the respective employer, print it and submit it to the person responsible for the module to sign.
  • Work placement credit: After the work placement a work placement report with approx. 10-pages on the work done and an employer certificate (e.g. work certificate) must be submitted to the person responsible for the module.
  • Entry in STUDIS: After submitting the work placement report and the employer certificate to the person responsible for the module, they then enter the work placement in STUDIS, provided the student has already registered in STUDIS
