Dr. Alison May
Dr Alison May (formerly Johnson) is a corpus-based forensic linguist and member of the International Association of Forensic and Legal Linguistics (IAFLL) and International Pragmatics Association (IPrA). Her publications cover several sub-fields of forensic linguistics, including: police interviewing, historical and contemporary courtroom discourse, plagiarism, and authorship analysis. She is co-author of An Introduction to Forensic Linguistics: Language in Evidence (2007; 2017) and co-editor of The Routledge Handbook of Forensic Linguistics (2010; 2021). She is also a co-editor of the field's journal: The International Journal of Speech, Language and the Law. In Augsburg, Alison will be offering two modules in the Summer term 2026: Corpus Linguistics and Forensic Linguistics, as well as delivering a workshop and giving a seminar paper (events to be publicised).
