Would you like to get a better understanding of what patents are and why they are useful? In this talk you will learn what patents protect, and for how long and why they are important if you are thinking about founding a startup. You will explore what makes an invention patentable and how this is assessed. Also, you will gain insights on the general steps of the procedure and timelines. After a short presentation, you to can ask questions to the speaker, Dr. Bettina Otto from the Charité BIH Innovation. She has a background in Biology and supports scientist in their entrepreneurship pathway, including the process to patent inventions as well as to found startups.
