Fulbright-Cottrell Junior Faculty Workshop

The Fulbright-Cottrell Junior Faculty Professional Development Workshop Version 4.0
May 18-20, 2020, in Cologne, Germany

The workshop offers training to junior group leaders in Germany on how to integrate research and teaching, how to best implement evidence-based pedagogies, how to communicate science to the public using new strategies, and how to develop skills in time management, leadership, mentoring students, and networking. The workshop also engages academic administrative leaders in Germany in a dialogue on how to best leverage professional development for future academic leaders.

This workshop originated from the Cottrell Scholar Collaborative Project, which combines aspects of two established programs offered in the U.S.: the CSC New Faculty Workshop and the CSC Academic Leadership Training Workshop. The previous editions of the workshop in Germany took place in Mainz (2017), Berlin
(2018), and Goettingen (2019). In the wake of these workshops’ success, the Fulbright Commission would like to invite junior group leaders to this fourth workshop.

Participation in the workshop is by application only. May 8, 2020 is the deadline for workshop applications/registration. Special workshop hotel rates are available until March 22 or April 1, depending on the hotel (see workshop website for more info).
