For the University of Augsburg, feedback from graduates is one of the most important sources for adapting academic conditions to meet students' needs.

As part of the nationwide collaborative project on graduate studies ( KOAB) under the coordination of the Institut für angewandte Statsistik ( ISTAT) the University of Augsburg is conducting a graduate survey in conjunction with approximately 70 other universities. The goal is to gather information regarding graduates’ retrospective assessment of their studies at the University of Augsburg as well as their current status.

The insights gained from the graduate survey offer numerous opportunities for institutional development and for improving the programs offered by the University of Augsburg. Among other things, they make a significant contribution to curriculum design and to advising by the Career Service and the  Studienberatung or to expand the range of supplementary and key qualifications. The graduate survey is also the most important source of information regarding whether the Studienangebot aligns with the skills required in the workforce.

By the way: We also welcome direct feedback. Your  contact person answers your questions and comments and also welcomes feedback, requests, and criticism beyond the scope of the survey.

Zur aktuellen Umfrage

Ziele der Befragung

What exactly do graduates do after completing their studies?

How do they reflect on their time at Augsburg University with the benefit of hindsight?

At present, we have only limited information on these topics. These simple considerations led to the decision to conduct regular, systematic, and comprehensive graduate surveys.

Your answers and feedback are an important indicator of the quality of higher education. They make valuable contributions to improving

  •     the range of programs and study conditions
  •     the university’s counseling and service facilities
  •     the practical and career orientation of the program

but also

  •     to answering the question of employment opportunities and conditions for university graduates,
  •     to comparing the career paths of graduates from different degree programs and disciplines
  •     as well as to identifying which knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired during your studies you consider particularly important and which you actually need or are expected to have

The information you provide will be useful to many university departments, primarily the faculties, but also the Career Service, Student Advising, and University Planning and Development. The graduate survey also serves as an important component in preparing for institutional accreditation.

Datenschutz

The feedback provided by graduates is treated confidentially by the University of Augsburg in accordance with data protection regulations. We use the data solely for the purpose of evaluating study and employment conditions and for academic research on higher education and graduates.

The data generated through surveys of sample degree programs as part of the National Graduate Panel is also shared with the partners of the National Graduate Panel( DZHW und INCHER).

The anonymity of the responses will be ensured at all times during the analysis and publication of the survey results. Contact information is stored separately from the survey data and will not be shared with third parties.  ISTAT will not receive any contact information from the University of Augsburg. These measures ensure that the respondents’ identities cannot be identified. Their anonymity is thus guaranteed.

The addresses of graduates at the time of completion of their studies were collected and stored electronically in accordance with the University of Augsburg’s regulations on the collection and processing of personal data. Since the addresses stored at the University of Augsburg are not always up to date one year after graduation, they may be updated through research, e.g., with the help of the local registration offices and the internet.

The stored address data is used for no other purpose than to send invitations and reminders to participate in the graduate survey. All employees who have access to personal data as part of the project are subject to the applicable data protection law. In this context, the disclosure of address data to third parties is strictly prohibited and remains in effect even after employees no longer work at the university.
