The third-person anaphoric argmument marking strategies by indexing

The present project aims to analyse quantitatively and qualitatively the third-person unstressed pronominal system in a variety of Spanish in a situation of intense (historical and current) contact, that of Misiones (Argentina). The objective is not only to describe another geographical region in which Spanish coexists with other languages, but also to analyse the linguistic dynamism in a context of convergence of substrate and adstrate by observing a complex morphosyntactic element of the Spanish language. Thus, the study aims to show on the basis of empirical data the variation and/or change in the above-mentioned pronominal system induced by contact. The focus of our study is the Oberá variety, as it represents the impact of the confluence of a variety of Spanish, a variety of Brazilian Portuguese outside the political border of Brazil and spoken varieties of Guaraní.
