Student survey
The student survey 2026 has started! As of now, all students currently enrolled at the University of Augsburg are invited to participate in the survey. For the first time, participating in the student survey is also possible in English!
The student survey is aimed at all students enrolled at the University of Augsburg at the time of the survey. Its objective is to gain information about the scope and necessity for optimizing study and teaching within our university. By participating in the survey, students are given the opportunity to share their experiences about studying at the University of Augsburg and thus directly contribute to the improvement of their study conditions. This survey is a trend study in which students are surveyed once every 3 years. The last student survey was conducted in the winter semester 2024.

results
Shortly after the end of the survey, reports on the results are compiled for all faculties and the study programmes in which at least ten students took part and sent to the respective people in charge. Further results are sent to the university management and representatives of selected institutions (e.g. the General Students' Committee (AStA), the University Library, the Central Student Advisory Service). A selection of interesting results will also be published here.
data protection
Data protection is given special attention in the implementation of the student survey and is carried out in close consultation with the Data Protection Officer of the University of Augsburg, Professor Gassner. Personal data will be processed only to the extent necessary.
The handling of the students’ personal data collected in the process must be regulated in accordance with data protection laws. The measures to protect personal data and the anonymity of participants in connection with the survey are explained in more detail below.
Purpose(s) of processing:
Quality assurance in teaching: A project designed as a trend study to survey students regarding relevant quality aspects, as is mandatory within the framework of the (re-)accreditation of degree programs and for system accreditation. Students will receive an invitation to participate in the survey via email.
Legal basis(es) for processing:
Art. 6(1)(e) and (3)(1) of the GDPR in conjunction with Art. 4(1) of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG) and Art. 10(1) and (3) of the Bavarian Higher Education Act (BayHSchG)
Duration of storage of personal data:
Personal data will be deleted immediately upon completion of the survey.
Data Subject Rights:
Students have the following rights:
You have the right to access the personal data stored about you.
If inaccurate personal data is being processed, you have the right to have it corrected.
Under certain conditions, you may request the erasure or restriction of processing, or object to the processing.
You generally have the right to data portability.
Furthermore, you have the right to file a complaint with the Bavarian State Commissioner for Data Protection.
Right to Withdraw Consent:
Consent may be withdrawn at any time with future effect. This does not affect the lawfulness of data processing carried out on the basis of consent prior to withdrawal.
Conduct:
The survey is conducted online as a self-administered survey by the University of Augsburg using the EvaSys software. It is conducted completely anonymously; it is not possible to identify individual respondents, and there is no linkage to other university databases.
Students will be invited to participate in the student survey via email. Contact information will not be shared with third parties and will not be used for any purpose other than sending invitations and reminders to participate in the student survey. Contact information will be deleted immediately after the student survey is completed.
The entered TANs and survey data are stored separately; this separation is ensured by EvaSys (see also: evasys: Informationen zu Datenschutz und Anwendungssicherheit V9.1 ).
The data is analyzed and the results reports are prepared by staff members of the Quality Agency.
Only anonymized analyses—and no raw data—are provided to the academic departments, institutes, and other stakeholders; therefore, it is not possible to identify individual participants. No analyses are conducted when the number of cases is small, ensuring that participants’ anonymity is guaranteed in all cases.
