Travel Information

  • A. Travel by airplane
You can arrive in Frankfurt airport (FRA) or Munich (München) airport (MUC). Although Munich is closer to Augsburg flying to Frankfurt and taking a train from there to Augsburg works well also. There is a train station (Frankfurt Flughafen) right inside Frankfurt airport with direct connections to Augsburg central station. The train from Frankfurt to Augsburg takes about three hours.

Public transport from Munich airport to Augsburg (Augsburg Hbf) takes about 1:30 hours, for a timetable see www.bahn.de. More convenient are shuttle services that should be booked in advance (please contact the symposium secretary, Ms. Amling).
  • B.  From Augsburg central train station to conference center

    • Take a taxi: the taxi stand is in front of the train station (6-8 EUR).
    • Alternatively, St. Ulrich is in walking distance (see city map below; ca 1.5 km, about 15 min).
    • The tram connections in Augsburg usually are very good, but during the symposium there is heavy construction work around the Königsplatz. The buses B3, 32, or 43 take you to "Theodor-Heuss-Platz" within a few minutes; the ticket is 1.20 EUR.
