Forum Urban Resilience (12/11/20-25/02/21)

URBЯƎƧ

In this series of lectures, we will discuss how citizens, communities, and the city's governmental apparatus face old and new crises (social and ecological crises, pandemics, totalitarianisms etc.) and develop responses that become part of the urban culture. Most specifically, during the Forum Urban Resilience, we will bring together lectures that analyze different reactions to urban crises, seeking to pay particular attention as to how these responses prompt cultural changes and the reconstruction of cultural dynamics in the city. Besides that, we will discuss the potential of cultural creativity for the strengthening of the social tissue of cities and communities in order to allow them to withstand changes.

Participants are invited to reflect upon the role community-based projects, self-organized projects, and literature play as part of the responses to crises and efforts to reinvent oneself and the local culture(s) in different contexts.
