In principle, you can choose flexibly when you would like to participate in a Summer or Winter School. For subject-specific Summer Schools, it is advisable to have completed at least two semesters at the University of Augsburg in order to demonstrate the necessary foundational knowledge in the field.

It may be somewhat more challenging to find a summer or winter School that takes place during the German semester break, as academic calendars abroad are often structured differently. As a result, these short-term programmes may overlap with Augsburg’s lecture periods.

You will receive academic credits from the host institution for courses completed during a summer or winter School. Whether these credits can be recognised as part of your degree programme in Augsburg must be discussed in advance with your department or faculty.
