About ISLA

Azulejos | Lisboa

For more than 35 years, the ISLA Institute of Iberian and Latin American Studies has been connecting and promoting in an interdisciplinary way the various research and learning-teaching projects regarding Ibero-American and Indigenous Cultures and Contexts at the University of Augsburg. Along with individual and collective research projects and the dedicated promotion of young researchers (‘Junges ISLA’), the Institute’s activities and channels include the established ‘ Mesa Redonda’ publication series, the international ‘Augsburg University Prize for Iberian and Latin American Studies’ as well as recently the ‘HORIZONTES Film Studies Network’, the ‘BayMis Academic Network’, or the ‘Cultures of Resilience Research Network’ (see sections).
