ProfiLehre Plus
What is ProfiLehrePlus?
As part of the existing cooperation among Bavarian universities, the “ProfiLehrePlus” project—funded by the Quality Pact for Teaching—was designed to systematically improve certified continuing education in university teaching methods in Bavaria. Even after the project funding has ended, the Bavarian universities continue to work together.
What was the goal of ProfiLehrePlus?
The goal was to create added value in the teaching of higher education pedagogy for faculty members at all Bavarian universities by centrally consolidating and systematizing the individual continuing education programs offered by the universities. By networking Bavarian universities, their individual offerings could be fully utilized across their entire thematic and methodological spectrum and made available in an easily accessible format. With the help of a central contact and information point, interested parties can still quickly and conveniently obtain an overview of the full range of offerings even after the project has ended and receive expert advice there.
How do teachers benefit?
Even after the project funding ends, the University of Augsburg continues to work with its partners to further develop its higher education pedagogy programs. Here, the now professionalized collaboration offers the advantage that the continuing education offerings within the network are more comprehensive and varied than those of a single university. Thus, courses that could not previously be offered at any Bavarian university due to insufficient local demand can now meaningfully expand the program portfolio for faculty members as one-time, statewide offerings.
In addition, faculty members benefit from a shared website for all network partners. With the help of an online, state-wide program catalog, interested parties can find out about the current course offerings at all Bavarian universities and register online statewide.
