About me

I am an environmental ethicist, art educator, researcher, and doctoral candidate. I studied environmental ethics at the University of Augsburg and art education, music and theatre at LMU Munich. My major academic research areas include ecology, phenomenology, aesthetics, environmentalism and sustainability in music scenes and subcultures. Since 2020 I am working at the Environmental Science Center of Augsburg University and since 2021 I am a Ph.D. candidate in philosophy at the University of Augsburg.

Philosophy of plants

My doctoral research focuses on ecosystems and environments dominated by plant communities, exploring how plants influence the mental states of humans and animals. Since i have been interested in the environmental humanities, philosophy and ecological ethics for a long time it made sense to combine these interests in a research project which is built on three intertwining subjects: The mind of plants, panpsychism and phenomenology. My research interests focus on how plants interact with their environment and what this means for the way humans perceive nature.
